Maximum Clamping force on a TOP261

Posted by: waynezaugg on

We're using a TOP261EG device, but are finding that both the plastic clip (TC-24NNHA) and the metal clip (TRK-24) are very weak and give hardly any clamping force with our heatsink.

We will be doing our own custom clip for our application. What is the maximum clamping force on this package?

We are using an Aavid 593002B3400G heatsink. Is there a better clip we can use?

Hi.

When mounting the eSIP, a pressure of 100 PSI (~0.69 N/mm2) is recommended; for the eSIP package, this equates to approximately 55 N applied across the front surface of the package.

This info can be found here: esip info

Hello,

We are currently designing a DCDC converter based in a Flyback topology. We want to use TOP267VG or TOP267KG and we are having some troubles finding the right heat sink an specially the necessary clip to hold it.

The packages we can use are eSIP-7C or eDIP-12B .
The desired thermal resistance should be between to 6-9Cº/W. Could you recommend us some heat sinks and some clips??

Thank you.

Best regards

Thank you for using PI product. We would be very glad to help you with your concern. However, if may I request, can you please create a "new" ticket for this one since this forum post pertains to a different concern.

Looking forward on your post.
