Ref. #145 Estimated clamp voltage is too high.

Posted by: Avinash andhale on

I am using DPA423 for multiple outputs. Everything is within range but I'm getting 2 warnings
Ref. #145 Estimated clamp voltage is too high.

Ref. #184 Clamp current cannot be calculated. This may result in incorrect selection of clamp component values.

Even after selecting bigger device as suggested by PI Expert i'm still not able to solve it. Is is just a warning or it is flaw with my design.

Input : low voltage DC 16 - 32 volts

Output : 1) 24 V , 130mA   2) 7V , 290mA (Reg. winding)   3) 5V , 60mA  ---  all windings are floating , Flyback transformer

attaching design file . Any help would be great.

Hi Avinash andhale,

Please see attached file for the updated design. Adjusted most of the components to default values and optimized R1 (Rsnubber) to meet Vds derating.

Ref. #184 warning can be ignored once verified on bench.

Thank you.
